On July 19th some of the Relief Society Sisters
went on a nature walk/devotional at Silver Lake up at Brighton.
It was overcast, and some were afraid it was going to rain.
BUT IT DIDN'T..
It was a cool 69 degrees, no wind, rain or lightning.
The Silver Lake trail must be the easiest
hike in all of Big Cottonwood Canyon.
There is little effort involved. The lake is right
at the trailhead and to hike
around the lake is
almost perfectly level. There are even boardwalks
in many of
the wet areas.
We passed out trail mix, water and clementines
to begin our 1 mile walk together.
We saw ducks, squirrels, beaver and deer. It was a
picturesque look at nature at its best.
We enjoyed visiting, and laughing.
We found the perfect spot for our devotional which was
given by Chrissy Lassen. She shared some thoughts and then we listened to
"How great thou art" by Carrie Underwood.
We had to take a picture of this poor tree. Totally dead all the way down
the trunk of the tree, but if you look at the very top there is new growth.
Grow...little tree...grow.
The perfect way to spend an evening during the summer
with people you love♥
