Welcome to Relief Society luncheon

The Relief Society Presidency provided a luncheon for the new young sisters coming into Relief Society.

Heidi hosted the lunch and served the food on her grandmas china.

We had chicken salad sandwiches, a lovely variety of fresh fruit and two yummy desserts, which included red velvet macaroons, and apple cake.

We then shared with the girls our love and testimony of Relief Society and

explained what is involved and how this great organization can bless families in and out of the church.

Pam Pratt is our young woman liaison and she shared her love for the girls, and her testimony as well.

We are excited to wish these girls well as they begin many adventures in their life.

Jessica Dudley is off to England and will be attending her home ward. Vashti is excited to go to the singles ward in Orem and she will be attending BYU. Kristen Haslem is attending the singles ward and going to BYU community school, and then off to BYU in Orem.

Kelsy Fitt who is in St. George during our luncheon will be living at home and attending our ward Relief Society..

No matter where we go or where we live, we will always belong to the largest women's organization in the world.
We all need each other, and we all can make a difference in someones life.

Sending our girls off to camp..

Our Presidency love the young women and their leaders.

We see them at least once a month in Relief Society and

during activities. They are a delight, and we like to fuss over them when we can.

Our tradition every year is to drop off goody bags

 with treats representing the young women theme as they depart for camp.

This year was "Are you part of the Inn crowd or of the stable few" ( Christmas in July ).

Everything was in red and green colors.

We wished them well and gave them hugs!!!

Traci Brown and Trisha Ellis were in charge of camp this year. They

stayed at Traci's cabin.

Beth, Adrienne, and Missy were there to supervise as well.

Have fun girls.

Yeh!!!!! some more sisters coming to Relief Society

We have 4 girls graduating from Young Women coming into Relief Society.

The Young Women Presidency planned

a graduation dinner in their HONOR.

Jessica Dudley, Kelsey Fitt, Vashti Musig

The Relief Society Presidency all attended, as well

as the young women leaders, the Bishopric, and parents of the girls graduating. 

 It was hosted by Kevin and Michelle Fitt. They served us a delicious meal.

Fresh fruit, spinach salad, pork with yummy sauce, and garlic mashed potatoes.

Dessert was a yummy coconut cake.

 After dinner, Julie Dudley the Young Woman President, said a few words and then talked about

her daughter Jessica. Kevin and Michelle Fitt shared some special things about Kelsy, followed

by Wendy and Todd Musig sharing some tender moments about Vashti.

Michelle Abbott represented the Relief Society Presidency. She is the counselor over

the young women transitioning into Relief Society. The Bishop finished the evening by sharing his thoughts.

It was an amazing evening, filled with the spirit of love for these girls.

The Relief Society is very excited to have these Young Women start attending.

Michelle's Delicious Gooey Coconut Cake:

1 18 oz white cake mix ..the kind with pudding in it

2/3 c buttermilk

1/3 c oil

1/3 c water

3 eggs

1 t vanilla

1 t coconut extract

1 15 oz can cream of coconut (find it in the mixed drinks aisle)

1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

1 8 oz cool whip

2 c coconut

Spray pan with pam and flour. In bowl combine cake mix, buttermilk, oil, water,eggs. Beat with mixer until smooth. Add extracts. Bake for 27-30 min until toothpick comes out clean. Using a wooden spoon handle make 1/2 in deep holes in cake at 1 inch intervals. Combine cream of coconut and milk and pour over cake. Spread cool whip on top of that. Sprinkle coconut over the top. Store in refrigerator
