COME AS YOU ARE PARTY

Your gorgeous presidency

Our first e-activity (small enrichment ) was held August 27th in Michelle Abbotts back yard. The presidency literally came as they were. No make-up on, no hair done. Just a simple presidency willing to show we aren't perfect. Casting off the world for a moment or two was very liberating. We had 17 attend our party. We laughed, had smores bars, english toffee cookies, roasted marshmellows and we shared embarrassing stories. There were some very funny stories..Sue, Julianna, Courtney and Heidi had some really funny things happen to them.

At the end of our night together we passed out a letter to all the sisters in attendance.
=====================

Dear Sister,

Thank you for coming to spend a little time with us! We want you to know how much we love our calling and how much we really enjoy spending time with each sister. We feel impressed to let each of the women in our ward know that we love you and like you just as you are, right now. Our Heavenly Father's vision of you is so different from how you see yourself. He sees you as your potential. How lovely we all must look to him!

As we go in and out of our daily lives we often find ourselves being overly concerned with how we look or how other people view us. We even let our self doubts prevent us from acting on promptings, or offering kindness or help to others. We as a presidency encourage you to cast off the world, and change the focus of your everyday. Tell yourself "It's not about me."Then spend time each day-in an elevator, in a car, at work, at school, or in your neighborhood, thinking about how you might lift the spirits of those around you.

We always want you as you are. We don't think about how you look, or how other people view you, we want you and need you with us regardless of those things. We notice when sisters are missing, your individual spirits make our ward family whole. Our Father in Heaven has blessed us all with this beautiful organization so we can bless each other-sometimes that is simply done by sharing your friendship with all of us. We love you for who you are, right now, as you are..a Daughter of God.

Love,Sue, Heidi, Michelle, and Joan
